Senior Champion Stallion, Egyptian Event Europe 2006

A flashy grey stallion with the unmistakable stamp of his sire Classic Shadwan, GR Amaretto was winner at the Show in Deurne and Junior Champion Colt at the prestigious Classic Egyptian Show in Holland 2000, then topped it off with 2001 National Reserve Junior Champion Colt of Germany and a Gold award at the competitive 2002 German Stallion Show. He has got type, movement, attitude - he is very showy and everything about him says "Arabian". GR Amaretto's head is beautiful - with superbly set eyes and a wide forehead and a fine teacup muzzle. He's very upright, with a slender neck, tremendous shoulder, and a very short back. He has powerful hindquarters, and high tail-set. He already sired some outstanding foals as well, and passed on his pretty face, nice body, and good mind. They've got a classic, pretty look to them, strut around with great carriage and explore the world with unbelievable self-confident. While on-lease to England in 2004, GR Amaretto bred some outstanding mares and the resulting foals have met the highest expectations. In fact, some of them have already won at shows. His daughter GR Madarah was recently sold to Australia. In 2005 he was Reserve Senior Champion Stallion at the international "A" Show in Wels/Austria and Senior Champion at the "Arabica" Show in Germany.

Some pedigrees are popular for a while. Others will remain popular for all times! GR Amaretto's heritage is nothing but amazing. His sire Classic Shadwan (Alidaar x Shagia Bint Shadwan), who resides at the same barn, is without any doubt the most popular son of Alidaar and in demand by breeders world-wide. With GR Amaretto he sired a son that will follow into his footsteps. On his dam's side GR Amaretto's pedigree reads as a combination of both classical refinement and athletic skills. His dam Halim's Asmara (Ansata Halim Shah x Lancer's Asmara) was named - among other titles - International Champion Mare of the European Egyptian Event 1994 and went on to produce not just one but two German National Reserve Champions! Her dam Lancer's Asmara, who was named Reserve World Champion Mare of Paris twice, is a daughter of Egypt's "father of action", Seef. Motion is important to GR Amaretto's breeders Erwin and Annette Escher. "Arabians besides being beautiful, must be good movers," says Annette. "In fact, they are referred to as being ‚drinkers of the wind'. That's an obligation for us as breeders!"

PERSONALITY

GR Amaretto is a very spirited fellow but when he is standing in his stall you can go in and scratch his head for hours. He's a playful pet, a clown with tons of personality and a pleasure to be around. However, he is a born show-off and always ready to snort and blow. An impressive stunner, he doesn't need a show arena to present his proud peacock prancing! He makes his own show.
